I have just completed a BA in Fine Art (Painting) at Winchester School of Art (Southampton University).
My work is not always figurative, but I believe drawing is an essential skill
I also believe art is a method of communication. I try to understand what I want my work to be about, to acquire the skills needed to translate the ideas into visual language - and enjoy doing it. I hope some ambiguity will encourage various pleasurable personal interpretations, and I also hope any viewer prepared to search for it will be able to understand what I myself am trying say.
I'm very keen to avoid hiding meaningless or incomprehensible work behind a facade of equally incomprehensible artspeak
I don't expect everyone to like my work but do want them to be able to understand it. Incomprehensible art bullshit really annoys me - its insulting and rude to the viewer
